On 22nd January 2018, the kick-off meeting of the project Silence Hate took place in Florence. The general objective pursued by the project is to combat and prevent online hate speech against migrants and refugees by developing new and creative counter-narratives. In particular, this objective will be achieved through the implementation of the following activities:
- A media camp for 30 participants (journalists, audio/visual experts, social media managers, media campaigners, bloggers) in London from 23rd to 27th The camp will be organised by Media Diversity Institute;
- Training of trainers and workshops held in Italy, Poland, Cyprus and Greece;
- Spreading of the materials produced by the project and dissemination of the results.
The project starts is built on previous projects realized in the last years by some of the partners, such as BRICkS – Building the Respect on the Internet by Combating hate Speech (Cospe and Zaffiria), Get the Trolls Out (MDI), Media against Hate (EFJ, Cospe and MDI), Stop bullying project!
